M‑Saris / Admissions & registration

Students register themselves. You approve.

Admit new students once. Each semester they register on the portal, the system checks their fees, and your registry approves — with a registration certificate ready to print.

Free pilot semester. Your own programmes and students. No contract.

The current way

Registration week shouldn't need a queue around the building

When registration runs on paper forms and spreadsheets, every office checks the same student by hand.

Current way
Students fill in paper forms and queue at the registry.
Consequence
Staff retype every form, and errors creep into names, programmes and modules.
Bigger problem
You start the semester without a reliable list of who is actually registered.
Current way
Finance checks each student's balance by hand before registration.
Consequence
Students go back and forth between offices, and some register without clearing fees.
Bigger problem
Unpaid fees are discovered at exam time, when it is hardest to collect.
Current way
Sponsored students and waivers are tracked in separate lists.
Consequence
Sponsored students are chased for fees they don't owe.
Bigger problem
Sponsors lose confidence in the institution's records.

How it works with M‑Saris instead

From admission to approved registration, in one flow

Each office does its part in the same system, and the student sees their status at every step.

Set up
Academic year, semesters and fee structures
Create the academic year and semester, the cohorts, the modules on offer and the fee structures with their instalments. Done once per semester, or once per academic year.
Academic year
Cohorts
Fee instalments
Result
Every student has the right modules and fees before registration opens.
Admit
Admit new students, then approve them
Enrol students one at a time with a short or complete form, or import a whole intake from Excel. Admissions are approved before the student gets portal access.
Short or full form
Excel import
Admission approval
Result
One clean record per student from day one.
Register
Students register on the portal
Students either pick their modules from the pool on offer, or let the system suggest them based on your rules — prerequisites, what is offered that semester and their previous results. Fee instalments, sponsors and waivers are checked before registration goes through.
Pick from the pool
Or auto‑suggested
Fees checked automatically
Result
No queues, no wrong modules, and no registration without clearance.
Approve
Approved automatically, manually, or both
You choose how registrations are approved: automatically when the rules are met, manually by the registry, or a mix — for example automatic for continuing students and manual for new ones. Every approved student can view, print or download their registration certificate.
Automatic approval
Manual review
Or a mix of both
Result
A live list of registered students, by programme and cohort.
Output
Class lists and timetables follow automatically
Approved registrations feed class lists, attendance sheets and timetables, so lecturers know who should be in the room. Timetabling also takes room capacity and class sizes into account.
Class lists
Attendance sheets
Timetables
Result
Teaching starts with the right students in every class.

Worried about switching?

That's normal. Moving from the way you work today to M‑Saris is a big step, so here are the worries we hear most often before anyone switches, and what we do about each one.

You might be thinking
“Our students aren't used to online systems.”
What we do
Registration is a few clear steps.
Students log in, pick their modules and submit. A step‑by‑step student guide is provided, and the registry can still register a student on their behalf.
Student user guide included.
You might be thinking
“Our programmes and modules are complex.”
What we do
You set up your own structure — and we train you free.
Your team configures programme levels, cohorts, core and elective modules and specialisations to match your curriculum. We train your staff to do it at no cost. If you'd rather we help with the setup, we can — this may be charged depending on how much work is involved.
Free training. Setup help on request.
You might be thinking
“What if it doesn't work for our intake?”
What we do
Run one semester free first.
Run a full registration in M‑Saris before you commit. If it doesn't hold up, you owe nothing.
Free pilot semester. No contract.

Run your next registration without the queue

Start with a pilot semester: set up your programmes, import your students and open registration on the portal.

Free pilot semester. Your own programmes and students. No contract.
